Sanitation Recertification

The Illinois Restaurant Association is an approved provider of State & City of Chicago Re-certification (five year renewal) classes. This one-day class is required for the renewal of all sanitation certificates, and must be completed PRIOR to expiration.

IRA instructors are recognized as leaders in foodservice instruction, and are certified by the Illinois Department of Health, the Chicago Department of Health, and the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.

PLEASE NOTE, all foodservice sanitation certificates expire five years after their date of issue. Check your certificate to ensure it is renewed before expiration and please plan ahead - it takes approximately 14 - 16 weeks to process grades and certificates.

Re-certification classes are held monthly at the IRA office in Chicago. To register for a class, please download the appropriate form at right, or contact the IRA at (312) 787-4000.
