The Illinois Restaurant Association continues to engage with local, state, and federal officials to help employers and employees address concerns about COVID-19. Effective Monday, March 29, all restaurant, hospitality, and foodservice workers in the city of Chicago, Cook County, and state of Illinois are eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations in Phase 1C. The IRA encourages all operators and employees to take advantage of this opportunity to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The IRA has launched our "Let's Do Shots!" social media campaign to promote the availability of the vaccine to all restaurant and foodservice workers in Illinois. On Monday, March 29 at 11:00 a.m., please post the above graphics - in English or Spanish - to your personal and business Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter channels with the following caption, hashtag, and profile tags: Time to roll up our sleeves! Effective 3/29, all restaurant industry workers in Illinois are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. Cook County Announces Updated Mitigation Measures for Restaurants, Bars, and Events Today, the Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH) issued COVID-19 Mitigation Order 2021-6, which eases some mitigation measures but continues CCDPH’s cautious approach to reopening in suburban Cook County. These regulations align with the city of Chicago's updated regulations announced yesterday. Effective immediately, Mitigation Order 2021-6 increases outdoor dining to groups of 10 people; amusement parks can open at 25% capacity; and outdoor fitness classes, meetings, social events and recreation activities increase to 50% capacity or 100 people.
