IRA on $15 Minimum Wage in Chicago by 2021

IRA President & CEO Sam Toia recently shared his perspective with Crain's Chicago and CBS2 Chicago on Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle's call for a $15 minimum wage in Chicago by 2021. 

"Such a drastic increase would devastate neighborhood restaurants and lead to more layoffs and fewer entry-level opportunities in the industry," said Toia. "The IRA would rather see a more reasonable, statewide proposal that won't force Chicago restaurants to raise prices and ultimately reduce jobs across the city."
