IRA in Tribune: Tip Pooling Rule Can Help Close Pay Gaps

This week, IRA President & CEO Sam Toia shared his insights with Chicago Tribune on the Department of Labor's (DOL) announcement on its intention to rescind a 2011 federal rule prohibiting back of house employees from participating in a valid tip pool agreement.

Sam explained how the IRA supports this proposal, which can help close the gap in pay between the front of house and the back of house employees in restaurants that do not take a tip credit.
