"Can The Tax" Coalition Launches Fight to Repeal Soda Tax

The IRA joined dozens of Cook County residents, businesses, and organizations in the "Can The Tax" Coalition at a kick-off event at Manny's Deli. The Coalition is working for the repeal of a penny-per-ounce tax on sweetened beverages about to take effect in Cook County. The tax, narrowly passed by the Cook County Board of Commissioners in November, kicks in July 1.
