UnitedHealthcare Introduces Healthy Savings to Chicagoland Members

UnitedHealthcare is sponsoring a Healthy SavingsTMprogram at no additional charge for our fully insured groups and Individual Exchange members located in the Illinois counties of: Boone, Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Iroquois, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, LaSalle, McHenry, Will, Winnebago, and the following Northwest Indiana counties: Lake, Porter and LaPorte.

The program makes it easier and more affordable for members to purchase healthy foods which may improve their health.

The program offers savings discounts of over $150 per month on pre-selected foods including healthy staples such as lean meats, milk, bread, yogurt, cheese, and produce.

How the program works:

• Members will receive a Healthy Savings card at their home address. To activate the card, the member visitshttp://www.healthysavingsuhc.com/. Once the card is activated, members can immediately take advantage of discounts when they scan their Healthy Savings cards during check out at participating grocery stores including, Jewel-Osco®, Mariano’sSM.and Shop ‘n Save®. These discounts are in addition to any in-store discounts or coupons.
• Members receive weekly emails from Healthy Savings featuring offers that have been loaded onto their cards. Members can also visithttp://www.healthysavingsuhc.com/to customize grocery lists, find recipes and nutritional information, and more. The website is viewable on a mobile device too.

We have created several materials to help you communicate the Healthy Savings program to your employees, if you have coverage with UnitedHealthcare. The materials can be either printed or distributed to encourage employee participation.
