Going Mobile to Market Your Brand

You've likely seen Dia de los Tamales at one of Chicago's famed street fests, including Taste of Chicago, or at our newest location in Block 37. We've made it a priority to bring our brand out to the public, and create visually exciting menu offerings that make people want to share with their friends through social media. Staying "mobile" by making your restaurant accessible through catering, public events, and involvement in the community goes a long way to build your brand. 

Simplify your menu

There’s so much variety out there and you want to distinguish yourself from the others. Pick a theme, something that speaks to you, and run with it. Don’t confuse your customers too much with too many choices. At Dia de los Tamales, we've taken our passion for and knowledge of traditional and specialty tamales and curated a limited menu of arepas, nachos, and sides that customers can't resist!

Stand Out!

Everything is a photo opp. Make your business or booth an opportunity for brand exposure! Colors, staff uniforms, and the uniqueness and Instagram-worthiness of your space mean more people will want to post and spread the word. Free advertising! 

Follow the Market Trends

Pay close attention to how your customers are eating. Appeal to their dietary changes and have stand out menu offerings that aren't just an option, but a must-have for all customers, including those with various dietary restrictions. Offering delicious gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options will always attract a crowd. 

Curate Your Customer Base

By participating in public and private events, you have the opportunity to appeal to a specific type of customer. Street festivals, music festivals, and other outdoor events are geared towards niche markets. Take the time to analyze the data of who is attending and what you are selling to determine if the crowd is your ideal customer base. 

Be Memorable! 

All of these tips all lead back to one thing. Don’t just be another vendor in the crowd, be unforgettable. Be photo-worthy so your customers can do the advertising for you! And don’t forget, quality food and quality people make for the most memorable experience.
