The IRA is proud to announce an alignment with City Colleges of Chicago to bring the highly touted Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses to our membership. The program, brought to Chicago by Mayor Emanuel in 2012, has become the city’s premier small business education and development platform, having graduated over 370 Alumni in Chicagoland and over 5000 nationwide. Enrollment is completely free to those who qualify.

The goal of the program is to increase small business revenues and job creation through the teaching of a customized curriculum designed by Babson College (the USA’s highest ranked school of entrepreneurialism), peer to peer learning, business support services, mentorship, networking and access to capital. The program is funded through a Goldman Sachs Grant and is free to those accepted.
The program has a proven track record of success in Chicago. According to a recent report, just six months after completing the program, 72% of small business graduates from 10,000 Small Businesses in Chicago have reported increased revenues and 50% had created new jobs. 84% of program graduates are currently doing business with other graduates of the program.
Program is 15 weeks in length. Classes are every other Friday from 8:30 to 5:30, there are three weeks where it is all day Friday and Sat., and 5 workshops/Clinics on Tuesdays or Thursdays between 6:00-9:00 the weeks there are not the day long classes.
1) Must be in business 2 years or more
2) Revenues between $150K & $4-6 Million
3) Four (4) full time equivalent employees (including the owner)
4) The person taking the program must be the majority owner of the business
