Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2011
Richard Dent is a Chicago Bears champion, two time Super Bowl winner and the MVP of Super Bowl XX who was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on August 6, 2011.
Dent was part of the Chicago defense during the mid-to-late eighties which ranks one of the best of all time. He is one of the NFL’s all time leading sackman and, at the time of his retirement in 1997, was third in the league with a total of 137.5 sacks. He holds the record for the Chicago Bears. Four times Dent was named to the All-Pro, five times to the All-NFC and was selected to play in four Pro Bowls.
In 1996, Dent founded the Make a Dent Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose primary goal is improving the lives of children. The foundation advances its mission through its work in community economic development and sustainability programs, education, health and civic initiatives.
When Dent retired from the NFL he started RLD Resources, a business specializing in voice and data solutions as well as energy products and services.
He is active in community and philanthropic work.
