Xavier joined Maisons Marques & Domaines (Champagne Louis Roederer’s subsidiary in the USA) in 2001 from EuroDisney SCA where he held the position of Director of Corporate Alliances. He was previously Head of Public Relations of the French automotive group Renault S.A.
Xavier’s wine industry career began in 1981 when he joined Moët Hennessy in the position of assistant Export Manager. In 1984, he moved to Los Angeles to preside over a US wine brokerage company representing French family estates and to serve as a marketing consultant to European food & wine companies. His role today at MMDUSA, as Sr. Vice President, is to oversee all marketing and communication activities, including brand management, special events, media and supplier relations, as well as trade education.
Xavier holds a Master’s degree in business, as well as post-degree certificates from Stanford ('89) and Insead (GMP'96). He is chairman of the Wine Market Council, an Honorary Director of the charitable foundation Grapes for Humanity and a Chevalier in the Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne
